Avgenakis for EOPE: “We will seize every opportunity to solve the problem”
Deputy Sports Minister Lefteris Avgenakis chimed in with his statement on the matter, which surfaced in the Hellenic Volleyball Federation, saying he would do everything possible to resolve the issue.
Deputy Sports Minister Lefteris Avgenakis broke into the issue of accounts freezing at the Hellenic Volleyball Federation due to debt on Tuesday afternoon (19/07) with a statement emphasizing that he will do everything possible to resolve the issue Problem.
Specifically, he explained:
“The ignorant practices of the past, which also led to the 10-year discrediting of the Olympic facilities in Peania, which we are now starting to reopen, hit the Hellenic Volleyball Federation seriously without bearing the slightest responsibility.
The Volleyball Federation, under the capable presidency of Giorgos Karabetsos, has made tremendous efforts in recent years to financially rationalize the inherited burdens. We work perfectly together and constantly support her struggle, as she says herself. And together with the Ministry of Finance we will now exhaust all possibilities to solve the urgent problem.
Athletes, clubs and athletes are not responsible for past bad practices, nor can they bear the consequences of impeding the development of the sport of volleyball.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Volleyball players of St. Petersburg “Zenith” beat “Nova” and won their fifth victory in a row in the Super League
St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–2 (25:17, 25:21, 19:25, 20:25, 15:13). Zenit extended its winning streak in the Super League to five matches.
In other matches of the day, Zenit Kazan beat Krasnoyarsk Yenisey at home – 3-1 (25:18, 25:20, 25:27, 25:20), the Dynamo-LO club (Sosnovy Bor) defeated Kemerovo Kuzbass at home – 3-0 (25:15, 25:19, 25:20).
