Triumph for Engapes France, defeating the USA in a thriller 3-2 and winning the Nations League
In a thrilling game, France saw the USA bounce back from a 2-0 deficit but managed to win 3-2 sets along with the prestigious Nations League trophy in Bologna.
Armed with the attack as well as the great and terrible Ervin Engape, France defeated the USA by 3-2 sets and celebrated the conquest of Nations League in Bologna, Italy. The Americans rebounded from 0-2 to 2-2 sets, but in the tiebreak a determined France did what it had to do to lift their first trophy of the tournament.
The French went strong from the start and easily won the first set (25-16) with the Americans out of the game. the french superstar, Engappe threw a party in attack, the American defense had no solutions and as a result the world champions, the French, did what they wanted in the Taraflex.
A similar situation in the second set, where USA improved slightly but France scored 2-0 with relative ease. The situation changed in the third set. America increased their percentage in attack, put pressure on their opponents with his serve and finally led with a four-point difference (9-5) to win the set 2-1.
In the fourth set the match was a derby, but the Americans scored 22:18 with a block at the end of the set and a little later 2:2 and led the final to the tie-break.
France led there by 2 points (4:2) thanks to the Americans’ external attack, then got an ace and a clear lead. The Americans passed out, lost touch with the score and the trophy.
