3-1 friendly loss to Slovenia for the women’s national volleyball team
The women’s national volleyball team lost 3-1 in sets to Slovenia in the first of three friendly matches between the teams.
The women’s national team lost a set 3-1 against Slovenia in their first of three friendlies in Kranska Gora. The second friendly against Slovenia will take place on Wednesday 3 August at 20:00 Greek time.
National coach Marcelo Abondanza started Sunday with Terzoglou, Ilioni Kelesidis in the centre, Lambrini Konstantinidou as passer, Eva Hadava, Konstantina Vlahakis on the wings, Martha Anthoulis on the diagonal and Martina Xanthopoulou as libero and distributed the participation time to all gymnasts who traveled to the city in northwestern Slovenia.
Our representative group showed good evidence despite the loss while in the first set they kept the upset in the middle, turning them at the expense of 12-16, leading 21-20 and losing in detail 27-29.
In the second set, Slovenia’s 14-16 became 16-25 to make it 0-2, while in the third our national team took a 7-8 lead, built a safety margin and won 25-21.
In the fourth he fell behind early (5-8) and couldn’t reduce to 19-25 and the last 1-3 set.
