Norway 2-3 Greece: Great victory with surprise for the national team away
Despite being 0:2 behind, the men’s national team won 3:2 and started with a win in the 5th qualifying group of the European Championship.
The men’s national team went from heaven to heaven in Norway when they fell 2-0 sets behind the Norwegians but clinched victory with a sustained counterattack at 3-2 sets and put a right foot into the 5th minute. Qualification started group of the European Championship.
The key to our national team’s downfall was Giorgos Tzioumakas’ cross in the third set, with the Greek diagonal delivering solutions from serve and attack.
Dante Bonifande’s players lost their focus in the second set, despite leading 17-11, after receiving simultaneous complaints from the match’s two referees, which left them 2- behind. 0 sentences.
The Greek internationals didn’t give up and continued to lead the game with a sustained counterattack until the tiebreak, where the turnaround was achieved with Psyche now at a high psychological level combined with the injury to Norwegian diagonal player Jonas Kvalen.
Captain Giorgos Petraeas was the top scorer for Greece with 16 points, while Giorgos Tzioumakas and Thanasis Protopsaltis each had 14 points.

Volleyball players of Kazan “Zenith” won the Russian Super Cup for the 11th time
Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

Kazan “Zenit” defeated “Zenith” from St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.
In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv became the first finalist of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup
Novosibirsk Lokomotiv defeated Dynamo Moscow in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:13, 30:28).
In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.
The final match will take place on December 26.
