APOEL suffered a 3-0 loss to Djurgarden in Sweden in the first game of the Europa Conference League playoffs. The Swedes opened the scoring with a goal from the middle of the field.
APOEL had a very bad day and suffered a bitter defeat 0-3 out Djurgarden in Sweden, for the pair’s first game in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
The Cypriots returned to the scoreboard in the 9th minute when Viktor Edvardsen Vid Belets saw Vid Belets wide of the target and fired from the middle of the field.
APOEL reacted, pressed, but didn’t create any chances and paid for them. In the 54th minute, the hosts made it 2-0 through Hjalmar Ekdal, in an offside phase that was not counted (there is no VAR in this round). Minutes later, Gustav Wickheim made it 3-0 with a long-range shot and put the home side further ahead, although he was reduced to 10 men in the 71st minute when Rasmus Schuler was sent off.
