“We have one task at the Spartakiad – victory” – the captain of volleyball players from the Kaliningrad region

The captain of the women’s team of the Kaliningrad region Ksenia Parubets commented on the start of the Spartakiad of the strongest for her team.
In the first match of the tournament, which took place on August 17, Kaliningrad volleyball players confidently beat the team of St. Petersburg (3:0) on their floor.
– For the first match, we played well, won in three games. This cannot but rejoice. Of course, at first there was a little excitement, but after the first draws it disappeared. I hope that in the next matches we will act even cleaner and more reliable. We have one task at the Spartakiad – victory, – the official websites of the Spartakiad and the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VVF) quote Parubets as saying.
“Our team is not fully ready for the season yet. We only worked for three days with the constellations that we used. After all, usually in mid-August, we just started tactical training, to play together. Now there is no such possibility. Of course, the Spartakiad is an interesting competition, but if we could somehow shift the dates of its holding, it would be very good. Do not forget that we do not yet have three players from the main squad. Considering all this, we showed a normal result in the first match, – said the head coach of the St. Petersburg team Alexander Kashin.
Matches of the women’s volleyball Spartakiad tournament are hosted by Kaliningrad and Tula.

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.
In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:13, 30:28).
In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.
The final match will take place on December 26.
