Alexander Volkov, blocker of the men’s volleyball team of Tatarstan, spoke about the performance of his team at the Spartakiad of the strongest.
The day before, the team beat the Novosibirsk region (3:1) and, having achieved six victories in six matches of the tournament, advanced to the finals of the Spartakiad ahead of schedule.
— In the first game we didn’t cope with servings — Novosibirsk played well. The most important thing is that then they broke the game. It’s great that we all go to the site and cope with their tasks – everyone plays and has time to relax. On August 19, the team of Tatarstan will play in Moscow with the team of the Leningrad Region.

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.
In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.
