The head coach of the St. Petersburg women’s volleyball team, Alexander Kashin, summed up the match of the 2nd round of the Spartakiad of the Strongest against Moscow (1:3).
The meeting took place in Kaliningrad. For Petersburgers, the defeat was already the second in two matches.
– Today, both we and Moscow played without our main volleyball players. The actions of the central ones decided a lot, but they acted an order of magnitude stronger with the opponents. Gave the sharpness of the attack and a good block. Unfortunately, in this element we could not oppose anything to the Muscovites. Our young players fought well. Some worked, some didn’t. Dasha Shustova, for example, hasn’t trained with us for a single day. She came from the youth team and showed herself well. We will continue to give young girls the opportunity to try themselves. The coaching staff needs to understand what to expect from new players, said Kashin, whose words are quoted by official website of the Spartakiad.
On August 19, the team of St. Petersburg will meet with the team of the Kaliningrad region.
