Women’s Volley League: Important win for Markopoulos, 3-1 over Porphyras

Markopoulos prevailed in the Mediterranean with a 3-1 set by Porphyras in the rescheduled Round 16 match of the Women’s Volley League.

Dimitris Markakis debuted with a three-pointer on the bench for AOM, who reached 18 in the league with the three points from the win and reduced to three of the Amazons with two games down (with Amazonas and Panathinaikos).

Porphyras reacted after the first set and equalized to make it 1:1, but Markopoulos pressed the serve (10:2 aces) and caused many problems for the Piraeus team. Armed with good service and well-placed blocks, AOM won the third and fourth sets, taking the three-pointer by 3-1 sets.
