Not all volleyball teams have withstood the intensive schedule of matches of the Spartakiad, the tournament turned out to be very difficult, said Alexander Volkov, blocking the teams of the Republic of Tatarstan.
On Sunday, the men’s team of Tatarstan defeated the team of St. Petersburg with a score of 3-0 in the final of the volleyball tournament of the Spartakiad. The teams of the finalists were made up of the players of two “Zeniths” – Kazan and St. Petersburg.
– The importance of the Spartakiad is not for us to determine, our task is to play. And the tournament was very difficult, and not all teams survived to the end. We have a good squad depth, and the coach gave everyone the opportunity to play. Therefore, thank God, we reached the final in good condition, in good shape, we were not tortured by the training process. And the result is natural.
– Was it more difficult to play without two legionnaires?
– All teams at the Spartakiad did not have legionnaires, so all teams are now in the same conditions.
– After the match, your team warmly thanked Roman Poroshin, who is moving to Belogorye.
– It’s a pity that Roma is leaving. First, he is a good player. Secondly, he is the soul of the team. It’s a pity, of course, but we wish him good luck and good games in Belogorye. Roma cried after the match, he is also upset now, – Volkov told reporters.
