The general manager of the Russian men’s volleyball team Sergei Tetyukhin said that at the moment no country has confirmed participation in the international tournament in Russia, noting that it is difficult to hold friendly matches after the World Cup.
Earlier, Tetyukhin told Match TV that Russia intends to organize competitions with the invitation of teams from friendly countries – Belarus, Iran, China, Brazil and others.
– So far there is no 100% guarantee from the teams and exact answers about participation. There is still a World Cup ahead, the decision of the national teams will be delayed. It is still unclear whether they will come or not. Frankly speaking, after the World Cup it is difficult to take your national team somewhere else to play friendly matches. Perhaps there are some commands.
Belarusians, I think, are the most guaranteed team with which you can play, – Tetyukhin is quoted by Match TV.
The Russian team is not allowed to participate in international competitions and will miss the World Cup, which will be held from August 26 to September 11 in Poland and Slovenia.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Volleyball players of St. Petersburg “Zenith” beat “Nova” and won their fifth victory in a row in the Super League
St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–2 (25:17, 25:21, 19:25, 20:25, 15:13). Zenit extended its winning streak in the Super League to five matches.
In other matches of the day, Zenit Kazan beat Krasnoyarsk Yenisey at home – 3-1 (25:18, 25:20, 25:27, 25:20), the Dynamo-LO club (Sosnovy Bor) defeated Kemerovo Kuzbass at home – 3-0 (25:15, 25:19, 25:20).
The leader in the table is Zenit Kazan (16 wins, 45 points), Zenit from St. Petersburg (14 wins, 43 points) is second.
