(Toronto) Cavan Biggio broke the tie when he was hit with a shot in the eighth on Tuesday as the Toronto Blue Jays had the last laugh 2-1 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Seranthony Dominguez (2-3) hit Biggio with his right foot.
“He’s got big feet and that’s a good thing,” said Blue Jays manager John Schneider, half joking, half seriously.
George Springer had just hit a ground ball which Alec Bohm relayed to home plate just in time to retire Nathan Lukes.
Yusei Kikuchi and Zack Wheeler had a good battle.
Wheeler gave up one run and three hits in seven innings, recording five strikeouts.
Kikuchi allowed one run and four hits in six innings, striking out seven batters.

George Springer tied the score with a well-timed single in the sixth.
Whit Merrifield started the team turnover at bat with a single to the infield.
Brandon Belt walked, then Merrifield headed forward with a cushion on a Vladimir Guerrero double. Springer then punted to safety in center field.
At the start of the set, Johan Rojas opened the score from 0-0 with a one-point double.
Yimi Garcia, Jordan Hicks (2-7) and Jordan Romano of Ontario have not allowed a hit in three innings.
Back in action after a back problem, Romano shot 29It is ransom, to the delight of 42,615 spectators. Romano had been absent for 17 days.

Edmundo Sosa hit two singles for the Phillies, who were trailing for the third consecutive time.
The Phillies’ first four batters were all 0 for 4 – it was that kind of night for Kyle Schwarber, Bohm, Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos.
Harper and Castellanos were the final two outs of the game. First of the ninth was a fly ball by Bohm to left field.
Romano is back, but Toronto is dealing with injuries to shortstop Bo Bichette (knee), outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (elbow) and reliever Trevor Richards (neck).
Wednesday night’s starting pitchers will be Aaron Nola (9-8) and Kevin Gausman (9-6).
Nola is 0-2 in their last four matches.
