Demin – about the nomination of the NBA draft: “I am proud that I can represent my country at this level”

The Russian basketball player Yegor Demin said that he feels pride in connection with the fact that he has to participate in the NBA draft, but does not feel additional responsibility.

Earlier on Tuesday, Demin confirmed the decision to put his candidacy for the upcoming Draw of the NBA.

– Yegor, you are the first Russian basketball player in a very long time to nominate his candidacy for the draft. What do you feel? Do you feel the load (responsibility) for the whole country?

– There is no cargo as such, pressure too. I rather feel pride that I can represent my country at such a level and be responsible for Russian basketball with my decision to some extent. For me, the main goal is to be a motivation for someone, I would be very happy about this. It is very cool – to have so many fans from Russia and people who are worried, sick and want everyone to work out, ”Demin said at a press conference.

In the season -2024/25, the Demin team reached the 1/8 finals of the Martov Madness of NCAA, where Alabama Crimson Tid was defeated (88: 113).

Earlier, the President of the Russian Basketball Federation Andrei Kirilenko declared Match TV that Demin would probably be chosen in the first round of the NBA draft, so it makes no sense for the Russian to stay in NCAA.

The NBA draft in 2025 will be held from June 25 to June 26.
