Oriola accuses Jasikevicius of leaving Barcelona
Taking to social media to bid Barcelona farewell, Pierre Oriola pointed to Sarunas Jasikevicius as the man responsible for his exit two years before his contract expired.
In theory, Pierre Oriola would wear the Barcelona shirt for another two years. That is, by the summer of 2024. In practice, however, this did not happen. The two sides will go their separate ways this season, with the veteran big man taking to social media to explain why that will happen.
“I am leaving the club following a decision by the technical staff, two years before my contract expires (unilateral termination by the club on June 30, 2022). But I know I’ve always done my best whenever I had the chance. I leave with the calm and pride of someone who gives 100% from day one, but that doesn’t mean this was the ending I wanted at this club‘ he wrote, tellingly.
Pierre Oriola moved to Barcelona from Valencia in the summer of 2017.
