OKLAHOMA CITY – Pascal Shiakam scored 27 points as the Toronto Raptors claimed their seventh straight win on Wednesday, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 117-98.

Shiakam has averaged 27.2 points in its last four games.

Fred VanVleet scored six three-pointers, aiming for 21 points per night.

Scottie Barnes had 17 points, Gary Trent 16 and OG Anunoby 15.

Shiakam also had 16 rebounds, six more than Anunobi. Trent stole the ball five times.

It’s the Raptors’ best streak this season. The club collected six consecutive victories from December 31 to January 9.

The Raptors will play again Thursday night in Houston. The Rockets have the worst record in the West, 15-39.

Toronto (30-23) is sixth in the East, one and a half games behind the fifth Sixers.

Aleksej Pokusevski and Theo Maledon each scored 18 points for the Thunder, who lost their third straight game.

Montrealer Luguentz Dort scored 15 points. Dort reduced Toronto’s lead to 59-54 with a three-point shot early in the third quarter.

But VanVleet responded immediately from a distance, Barnes signed a block and VanVleet added a long shot.

The Raptors led 65-54 and then kept pace.

His team’s top scorer, Ontarian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, missed his sixth consecutive game due to an injury to his right ankle.

It would be weird if he returned to the game before the end of the month, at the earliest.

On December 8, the Thunder won 110-109 in Toronto.
