Brazil's football confederation, the CBF, held the draw for the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil on Tuesday. Of the eight teams remaining, three of the four matchups are derbies, and one side of the bracket holds the tournament's most decorated clubs.

The quarterfinal matchups are Internacional against Gremio, Cruzeiro against Atletico-MG, Vasco against Vitoria, and Palmeiras against Santos.

Cruzeiro and Gremio share a bracket half

Cruzeiro and Gremio, two of the competition's biggest champions, landed on the left side of the bracket. Cruzeiro has won the title six times, while Gremio has five titles.

In total, the left side of the bracket holds 14 championships: Cruzeiro with six, Gremio with five, Atletico-MG with two, and Internacional with one.

Palmeiras leads the other half

On the other side of the bracket, Palmeiras has the most titles among the remaining clubs, with four championships. Palmeiras will face Santos, a one-time champion. Vasco, also a one-time winner, takes on Vitoria, which is still chasing its first title.

The first-leg matches will be played on August 26 and 27, with the second legs a week later on September 2 and 3. The final will be a single match on December 6.

The quarterfinals will feature semi-automated offside technology and new refereeing rules.
