The championship fight between WBC light flyweight champion Yesenia Gomez and Quebecer Kim Clavel has again been postponed.

Clavel herself confirmed on Wednesday that the date of March 11 that had been chosen for the presentation of their confrontation no longer holds, this time at the request of Gomez.

Gomez’s manager allegedly claimed his boxer was unable to train given the severity of the COVID-19 situation in Mexico.

In November 2021, Clavel had been forced to ask to postpone the duel which was to be presented on December 17, at the Bell Center. Clavel had then aggravated an injury in training.

Clavel (14-0, 2 KOs) is now expected to step into the arena on March 11 as planned, but it will be against an opponent whose identity has yet to be determined.
