Undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor will face the legendary Amanda Serrano on April 30 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Taylor and Serrano are considered the two best ‘pound-for-pound’ female boxers on the planet by ESPN. It will be the first featuring two women in Madison Square Garden’s history.

A fight between Taylor (19-0, 6 KOs) and Serrano (42-1-1, 30 KOs) has been in the cards for several years and the winning conditions have finally been met for the everything materializes.

Gold medalist at the London Olympics in 2012, Taylor turned professional after those in Rio in 2016 and captured her first world title in her seventh duel. She then became unified champion in her ninth before eventually getting her hands on all the belts by defeating Delphine Persoon in June 2019.

Serrano meanwhile has been champion in seven different weight classes and suffered her only loss to Frida Wallberg in April 2012. She was unified featherweight champion, but made her last outing at lightweight last December.
