Eventually, Tyson Fury will take on Dillian Whyte in a ring.

There was supposed to be a tentative agreement between Whyte and Anthony Joshua to let Fury and Oleksandr Usyk face off in a June heavyweight unification bout in Saudi Arabia, but that deal fell through on Thursday .

Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) is the mandatory WBC contender so he’s first in line to take on Fury. It remains to be seen what the amounts of the purses will be for a duel which could take place in the spring in the United Kingdom.

Joshua lost decisively in September against Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs). He did, however, exercise the rematch clause in the contract.

According to the current course, if Fury were to win against Whyte, he should then have a date before the end of the year with the winner of the second Usyk-Joshua fight.
