WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is set to defend his title against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte on April 23 in the UK, reports ESPN reporter Mike Coppinger.

Promoter Frank Warren won the bid to host the fight with a bid of $41 million, Coppinger reports. His rival promoter Eddie Hearn is said to have made an offer of $32 million.

Fury will receive a purse of $32.8 million for this fight, while Whyte would receive a purse of $8.2 million. This will be Fury’s first fight in the UK since August 2018.

Fury’s last fight (31-0-1, 22 KOs) dates back to last October, when he defeated Deontay Wilder by knockout. Whyte (28-2, 19 K.-O.) beat Alexander Povetkin by K.-O. when he last appeared in a ring in March 2021.
