Jose Ramirez had to work hard, but finally got a unanimous decision victory over Jose Peraza on Friday in Fresno, Calif., in a super-lightweight duel.

All three judges viewed the matchup the same way, as identical cards of 116-112 were returned at the end of the 12 rounds.

This return to the winning column should allow Ramirez to reestablish himself among the top pugilists in the 140 lbs division, he who had been defeated by Briton Josh Taylor in May 2021.

Ramirez thus increased his record to 27 wins for a single defeat, while Peraza suffered a 4th setback in 31 professional fights.

The 29-year-old boxer from California picks up a win for the first time in over 18 months. In August 2020, he defeated Viktor Postol.
