Alexander Emelianenko is least associated with fights and training, says Kamil Gadzhiev

The president of the AMC Fight Nights league, Kamil Gadzhiev, said that Alexander Emelianenko is the last thing he associates with sports.

The Ural FC 7 tournament scheduled for April 12 in Moscow was canceled due to technical reasons. This show was to be headlined by a rematch between heavyweights Emelianenko and Vyacheslav Datsik; it was planned that they would fight according to boxing rules with MMA gloves. In September 2022, Datsik knocked out Emelianenko in a boxing match in the 13th second.

— My criterion: this is a fight of a person who is more developed in another form than in MMA. If a person is more of a journalist than a fighter, he is a freak-boy; if he is more of a dentist or a trash talker than a fighter, he is a freak-boy. We put everything on the scale, and if he’s more of a fighter, that means he’s not a freak fight.

Sergei Badyuk and Igor Ryazantsev are a freak fight that took place here. Am I offending one or the other? No. I have a warm relationship with both of them. They are my comrades. Especially Badyuk. This is just the status of the battle. Sergei has been in the media for a long time, he is an adept of martial arts. For him, training took a back seat. Igor Ryazantsev – even more so. He’s a journalist. People who were less concerned about fighting fought. Many fights in pop MMA are freak fights because people trained for three months, and before that they were “barbers” fighting “cooks”. 100% freak fights.

Emelianenko vs. Datsik is a freak fight. Sanya is least associated with training, martial arts and fighting. Anything: media appearances, fly-ins, affirmative action, whatever. This comes first, fighting comes second. We don’t even remember where, when and by what rules. We stopped understanding. This is not professional MMA. It’s the same with Slava – by any rules and anywhere. He speaks out and jokes. Therefore, it’s a freak fight,” Metaratings.ru quotes Gadzhiev.

2020 Olympics champion boxer Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his career

Olympic champion and former interim WBA super featherweight champion Albert Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his professional career.

At the beginning of July in Istanbul at the “IBA.PRO 8” tournament, Batyrgaziev lost early to the British James Dickens and lost the IBA.PRO champion and interim WBA champion titles in the second featherweight division. For the 27-year-old Russian, this was the first defeat in his professional career.

— I want to tell you honestly about my plans. Many people ask about their future career. Now I have decided to take a conscious break from my professional career. For me, boxing has been and remains a huge part of my life. Therefore, this choice is now very difficult. My whole sports life has been a race to the top: four Russian championships, an Olympic medal in Tokyo and then turning professional, where I went undefeated.

The last fight on July 2 was a turning point for me. The first defeat made me look at many things differently. I thank Allah for the trials and mercies that helped me become a better person. Since I have always felt a responsibility not only in the ring, but also before society, now is the time to become more active in projects that I have long planned, for example, supporting the development of sports infrastructure in my native regions. This doesn’t mean I’m saying goodbye to the ring. I remain an active boxer. But now all my work is outside of it. I thank everyone for their incredible support along this path: both in moments of triumph and in moments of challenge. She gives strength. I promise this new chapter will be just as honest and purposeful. I’m not saying goodbye, I’m just saying “goodbye,” Batyrgaziev wrote in the Telegram channel.

Batyrgaziev won gold in the weight category up to 57 kg at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. In the professional ring he has 12 wins and one loss.
