Makhachev: “Regardless of the results of the main battle of the UFC 315, I am not going to abandon my lightweight title”
The UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev wrote on the social network X that he was not going to abandon his title, and the UFC 315 tournament can determine his next opponent.
In the main event, UFC 315 Belal Muhammad will protect the UFC belt in a welterweight belt in a duel with Jack Maddalen. The tournament will be held on May 11 in the Canadian Montreal.
– The main event of this Saturday will determine my next step. But regardless of the outcome of this battle, I am not going to abandon my lightweight title! We can get a real applicant there! – wrote Makhachev.
Earlier, the head of the UFC Dane White noted that as part of the June tournament, UFC 317, representing Spain Elijah, Topuria, should meet with Makhachev or Brazilian Charles Oliveira.
