Russian fighter Jeff Monson told Match TV that the Moldovan authorities denied him entry into the country where he was supposed to fight at an FEA tournament.

On November 29, Monson was supposed to fight in Chisinau against Moldovan Ion Soltoianu.

“Yes, I, along with my coach, were detained at the airport in Moldova and denied entry because of my support for Russia,” Monson told Match TV.

Monson has been a Russian citizen since May 2018; at the end of May 2023, he surrendered his American passport at the US Consulate in Istanbul.
