Eddie HEARN: “Joshua will announce his decision himself. Wait”
Promoter Eddie Hearn believes heavyweight Anthony Joshua will return to the ring, but the boxer himself will make a statement about his future career.
Previously, information had emerged that the Briton wanted to end his career after two of his friends died in an accident.
“Yes, I think Anthony will take a significant break from boxing. He needs time after the deaths of his friends. It is difficult to prepare yourself for such tragedies. And when the time comes, Joshua will announce his decision, just wait.”
“But you’ll hear it from him, not from anyone else. Joshua will talk about his future himself. I think he’ll want to come back, but we won’t be discussing that anytime soon,” Hearn said.
Joshua was in the car at the time of the crash but was not seriously injured.

Huge problems. Police issue arrest warrant for popular world champion
World lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg), American Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) faced major problems; police issued a warrant for his arrest.
The WBA titleholder is accused of domestic violence, according to ESPN. The order was issued under various articles: illegal imprisonment, attempted kidnapping, beating and others.
Miami Gardens Police Department spokesman Emmanuel Jeanty said law enforcement is currently trying to locate Gervonta.
Davis has had repeated troubles with the law, and in October 2025, he was involved in an incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel. Allegedly, the American boxer came to the strip club where she was working as a waiter and beat and threatened her.
Police confirmed Courtney’s statement after reviewing CCTV footage.

World champion complains that Usyk stole his opponent
WBO World Heavyweight Champion Fabio Wardley He talked about the missed opportunity to fight Deontay Wilder.
“I want 2026 to be big and eventful. I have a world title now, but I’m not going to sit around and hide it. I want to be active and get in the ring regularly. I want big fights, big names, big events and big moments.”
If we’ve already done so much, why not achieve this? Why don’t we go to Madison Square Garden? This is now one of my main desires and I have no plans to slow down. At the beginning of the year, the idea of a fight with Wilder came to my mind. But someone took this opportunity away from me. I’m really just looking for new accomplishments, new milestones, new landmarks,” Wardley said.

Gvozdyk will fight in the new organization formed by Turki Al-Sheikh
Former world light heavyweight champion (up to 79.4 kg) Alexander Gvozdyk (21-2, 17 KOs) is likely to fight his next fight under the auspices of new organization Zuffa Boxing.
Zuffa Boxing is a professional boxing promotional company founded by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White and General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Chairman Turki Al-Sheikh.
This is a closed organization where each weight will have a champion and its own roster of boxers. White and Al-Sheikh have repeatedly expressed their dissatisfaction with the presence of multiple champions in each division (WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF).
Gvozdyk’s opponent will be multiple world title challenger Radivoje Kalajdzic (29-3, 21 KOs), who represents the United States but is a citizen of Serbia.
The event will take place on February 1 at the Meta Apex arena in Las Vegas (USA). The fight was reported by insider and columnist Dan Rafael.
It has not been officially announced, but this is a fight that is being fought as I was told. https://t.co/9OvxIg0FgO
