Quebecer Kim Clavel is part of a group of eight boxers identified by ESPN as the rising stars to watch in women’s boxing over the next two years.

The 31-year-old Clavel was supposed to make her first world title fight on December 17, but she had to give it up due to a lower-body injury.

The clash against Yesenia Gomez was then pushed back to March 11, but the Mexican recently asked for the duel to be postponed because she was not trained properly.

In his report, ESPN recalls his journey and his decision to return to work in the health system at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The Quebecer also won a ESPYS in 2020 for his outstanding work with seniors in Montreal.

Clavel should nevertheless return to the ring on March 11 against an opponent whose identity has not yet been revealed. This will likely be a fitness fight.
