The worst teams of the season We only choose the strong, Chelsea and Liverpool in the lead

Potter goes to the bottom with other divers.

We know that the worst in the top 5 are Southampton, Cremonese and so on. But it’s silly to even stammer that they disappointed the most. Barcelona fans, who went hard on Xavi yesterday after two defeats in a row, have more reasoned demands on their team than inconsistency in dipping from wingers.

And there is a category of clubs whose matches you often watch. They have money, fans and status, but they play terribly. Resources were allocated for the fight for high places, but they achieved something in the style of Chelsea. Six games without a win, the risk of relegation from the Champions League and the knowledge that Potter’s relationship with angry fans is getting worse by the day. Who will keep company at Chelsea?

7th place. Atalanta

Fiorentina and Valencia could have been on this list, but their failures have come as no surprise for some time. Unfortunately, they are no longer strong clubs. The “violets” last season moved from 14th to 7th place, but since the team left the Kokorin talisman, they will see no luck. But seriously, Fiorentina and Valencia, where the incomprehensible Lim family reigns, have not been demanding anything for a long time. Unlike Atalanta. Gasperini was third two years ago. Reached the final of the Italian Cup. But they didn’t take the trophy. A tough coach quarreled with the players, important people left. Miranchuk wasn’t like that, but he is better off in Turin. Atalanta have lost 4 of their last 5 games and are 24 points behind Napoli leaders in Serie A. Only by taking away points from Juventus does Juventus leave them in the top six. The Bergamo club will most likely slip, because so many come on and leave, and the selection is not always able to perfectly compensate for the defeats.

6th place. “Villareal”

Champions League semi-finalist, Europa League winner. But without manager Unai Emery, who traveled to Birmingham to upset another slate member Everton, the small Spanish side have sunk in the table. Villarreal are in 10th place in a season which sees Atlético recover from last year’s setbacks and Real Sociedad and Real Betis battle for a place in the top four. Villarreal are betting on tough veterans and don’t have any interesting old players at their disposal, but their luck has remained. The kings of ceramic tiles have surprised time and time again Champions Leaguebut now it’s down again.

5th place. Bayer

Given the current lineup of the season, Bayer should be in the top four, like last time out. But they were eliminated from the Champions League. And in the Bundesliga they risked drowning in the struggle for survival. Xabi Alonso has lifted Bayer a little further up the table, but Lunev’s side have unstable results. Monaco’s move to penalties in the Europa League did not inspire Azmoun and company to win over Freiburg. Serdar is now at the base, he helped avoid defeat, but more was expected from Wirtz, Diaby, Glozek, Shik and Demirbay before the season started. Bayer showed glamorous football, but it didn’t last long.

4th place. “Seville”

End of match vs PSV on the road explains why Sevilla, traditionally in the top four in Spain, are now in 14th place, two points away from direct relegation. In their favorite competition, the Europa League, the Sampaoli team scored three times against Van Nistelrooy’s team. But they conceded two goals in the second leg. They proved once again that there was no trace of the previous stability. Sevilla is not what it used to be. Only the backup goalkeeper Dmitrovich showed fighting techniques. Reply to a wild fan PSVwho ran onto the pitch and punched the goalkeeper in the face.

3rd place. Everton

Lampard led one of the richest clubs on the planet. The transfer costs are comparable to Klopp’s spending at Liverpool. And it turned out to be a team for the relegation zone. New manager Dyche will have the opportunity to save the Toffees from their first top-flight relegation in 72 years, but the bitterness won’t go away. The composition is normal, but no calcium. There are three clubs in the top three Premier League – The tournament is incredibly difficult, but that doesn’t really justify Everton. A year ago, they were fighting for survival and not playing for all the money. West Ham and Leicester have slipped after a decent last year but have a much better chance of a rematch in the future than the hapless Toffees.

2nd place. Chelsea

Not the first, because there are more objective reasons why Chelsea play football so badly than the winner. Unsuccessfully changed the coach, kicked out a strong mentor Tuchel. There have been injuries to key players like Kante and James. There has been a decline in those who contributed to Champions League victory. Not only Mendy and Mount are on the list. Boeli has bought the newcomers, but they are failing. Potter looks confused. He spits on the results and doesn’t understand what the team is missing. Chelsea are tenth in the table because they don’t know how to regain and exploit the space.

1st place. “Liverpool”

Imagine being told in August that Liverpool would leave Arsenal 21 points off the table at the end of February with a game in hand. And now it’s a fact. Arteta in the fight for the championship and Klopp must beat the teams of the level that have gained momentum Manchester Unitednot compete with Fulham and Brighton for a place in the Europa League. It is unlikely that it will be possible to climb into the top four, because Klopp’s seventh season is like a “black mark”. Jürgen hopes to survive this autumn. But initially it was the favorite Premier League on a par with finalist Manchester City Champions League last year.

Injuries and fatigue are topics, but read what Reds fans themselves write about the quality of the team’s football. Here all experts will agree with them. Liverpool wake up from time to time, but much more often they sleep in defense and yawn in attack. This is Jurgen’s fiasco. Important managers are running away from the coach, and the managers want to sell the club, so they are in no hurry with transfers.

The former president of the Ukrainian Football Federation is wanted in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has placed the former president of the Ukrainian Football Federation (UAF) on the wanted list. Andrei Pavelko. This comes from Ukrainian data Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the database, Pavelko is accused of two criminal articles: embezzlement, misappropriation of property or misappropriation of property through abuse of office, committed on a large scale or by an organized group, as well as official forgery.

On October 9, it became known that the former UAF president had been indicted on new charges. As clarified by the Strana publication, the investigation believes that Pavelko and a group of other Ukrainian football officials took possession of 9.32 million euros, which UAF received from the Union of European Football Associations (of UEFA) in 2015-2016.

Pavelko had previously been accused of carrying out bribery schemes during the construction of a plant to produce artificial turf for football pitches. In this case, the president of the association was arrested in November 2022, but managed to get bail. In June 2023 he was arrested again; only in February 2024 did he win the appeal and was released. In the same year, according to Ukrainian AveragePavelko traveled abroad, submitting a certificate of disability. Then “Strana” associated the persecution of Pavelko with the fact that Vladimir Zelensky was pressuring him to force him to hand over the position of president of the association to Ukrainian footballer Andrei Shevchenko, who eventually led the UAF in January 2024.

The RFU does not rule out Karpin merging the posts again

Russian Football Federation (RFU) does not rule out an agreement with the coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin reconciling work in the national team and the club. The Secretary General spoke about it in an interview RFU Maxim Mitrofanov.

In November Karpin announced his departure from Dinamo Moscow; he had been working at the club since June. Later, in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel, he ruled out a future combination.

“Never say ‘never’, everything happens in life,” Mitrofanov said in response to the question of whether he agreed RFU once again combining Karpin. — Basic RFU against the combination of the work of the national team and club coaches. But during the period of exclusion from official competitions this combination is in some cases possible; several coaches, even at the helm of the national teams, combine their work with that of the club”.

“If we talk about the normal competitive period in which the federation and its team should exist, the combination is impossible, the coach and his staff must be completely focused on the team and solving the assigned tasks. We do not know whether Valery Georgievich will ever contact us again with the question of the combination. I don’t think he knows it either. But it seems to me that he himself has drawn important conclusions and expressed them. The combination places a greater burden on the football team. There, too, they must correctly evaluate their capabilities. When a coach is in the national team, objectively he cannot deal with club matters,” Mitrofanov added.

Previously, Karpin also combined work in the national team and Rostov, but left the club in February this year.
