English Premier League clubs have refused to partner with Netflix. The streaming service wanted to make a series of documentaries on club life Premier League and was ready to sign a 3-year contract for a total of £15m.
However, it commands Premier League this proposal was considered too small. They also feared signing a deal with Netflix would prevent them from getting lucrative deals in the home market from Sky Sports and BT Sport.
Netflix plans to have at its disposal the right to arrange interviews with players, coaches and club officials, as well as a pass to the team’s locker room.
