The terrible accident of a football player. The car flew up to the second floor!

Children miraculously escaped from a car that lost control.

Most modern footballers have some inexplicable love for expensive and fast cars. Very often in the news headlines, players appear as persistent traffic offenders.

However, what happened to the football player of the Belgian championship is very reminiscent of an expensive blockbuster. Significant speeding led to a terrible accident.

Only a miracle saved from numerous victims.

The car crashed through the wall

Midfielder Sofyan Kiyin did not achieve any significant success on the football field by the age of 25, although he spent several seasons in Italy. There he played for such well-known teams as Lazio, Venezia, Salernitana … Now the Moroccan plays for Oud Heverle Leuven in the Belgian elite division.

On March 30, Sofyan became the hero of local news feeds. The football player got into a terrible accident. According to media reports, Kiyin was driving through the commune of Flemal in a Mercedes car with a significant excess of the speed limit. Instead of the permitted 90 km/h, the vehicle raced at a speed of 200 km/h.

On a dangerous section of the road, Sofyan lost control, and his car flew up from a collision with a curb to the height of the second floor. The car flew into the wall of the sports complex, and the impact was enough to break through it. The football player, along with his iron horse, ended up on the basketball court. Stopped “gelding” only the support beam.

“We were on the brink of disaster”

Fortunately, Sofyan managed to survive this terrible accident: he escaped with only a few fractures and bruises. Kiiina’s club confirmed the fact of the accident and spoke about the player’s state of health.

– Sofyan Kiyin was taken to the emergency department of the nearest hospital, where further examinations are being carried out, nothing threatens his life. Fortunately, no other cars or people were involved in the accident. The club is awaiting more clarity on the exact circumstances of the incident before providing further response. We wish Sofyan a speedy recovery,” Oud-Heverle Leuven said in an official statement.

The midfielder was lucky. And it’s not just that he survived a terrible car accident. Sofyan could well fall under serious criminal prosecution. Seconds before the crash, the girls’ team was on the basketball court. They miraculously escaped!

“We were on the brink of disaster, as the girls finished basketball training only 11 seconds before the incident,” L’Avenir, the head of the commune of Flemal, Sophie Temon, quotes the words.

The official also guaranteed that all witnesses of the terrible accident would be provided with psychological assistance. Already, a special engineering commission is assessing the damage caused to the building.

Ronaldo has won a lawsuit against Juventus for non-payment of salary

The Turin court rejected Juventus’ appeal against an arbitration decision that forced the club to pay 9.7 million euros to Portuguese striker Al-Nasr from Saudi Arabia to the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports it.

In 2024, the arbitration court sentenced Juventus to pay Ronaldo 9.7 million euros, which the player was initially supposed to receive as severance pay after moving to England’s Manchester United. After the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Juventus agreed with Ronaldo to postpone the payment of his salary in the amount of 19.6 million euros. A further agreement was concluded on bonuses for this amount until 31 July 2021, which were never paid, after which the Portuguese sued the club.

The majority of the Juventus board of directors, including the president, will meet on 29 November 2022 Andrea Agnelli and vice president Paolo Nedvedhe decided to resign. On 1 December 2022, the Turin Prosecutor’s Office prepared a subpoena to commit Agnelli to trial; he and other executives were suspected of violations in Juventus’ financial management. In particular, the investigation involved the provision of incorrect financial data, fraud, and inflated purchase amounts for players. The Juventus management was accused of disseminating false information on the club’s financial situation, of market manipulation, of providing false economic declarations for non-existent transactions and of creating obstacles to audit control.

Ronaldo is 40 years old and played for Juventus from 2018 to 2021, making 134 appearances for the club, scoring 101 goals and providing 28 assists. As part of Juventus, the Portuguese became Italian champion twice (2018/19, 2019/20), won the Super Cup twice and the Cup once.
