Today, the expanded composition of the Russian national team was announced: the national team will hold a training camp and play with Qatar. Let’s see who’s on the list.

Debut chances for players from Ural, Krasnodar and Pari NN

For six players on the roster at once, this is an opportunity to spend the first training camp in the national team. Particularly interesting is the selection among Ural players – there are three of them at once in the extended squad. And if Ilya Pomazun has already passed retirement, then for midfielders Alexander Yushin and Andrey Egorychev this is a potential debut.

Neither star from the sky was enough – hard workers who gradually gained a foothold in the initial clip of the “bumblebees”, and are now becoming leaders. Andriy had an excellent second half last season, and he has also shifted the pace in the new league: he now plays regularly as a right winger. Alexander also came to prominence in the spring, at a time when another recruit, Alexei Kashtanov, fell into depression.

Three more potential debutants come from Krasnodar: Sergey Volkov, Alexander Chernikov and Nikita Krivtsov. All are starting players. Chernikov and Volkov are the best in tackling, they give decent work off the ball, Nikita fits perfectly into Vladimir Ivic’s system, but has not yet distinguished himself with effective actions in the new championship.

As for Viktor Alexandrov, this is the young defense leader of the NN peer. They took it back at the moment when the people of Nizhny Novgorod just raided RPLand gradually won a spot in the opening clip.

Only two from Rostov

Perhaps the players from the south didn’t work enough to be called up to the national team. The start of the season for the team is extremely difficult, it has long had to play without recruits due to disputes with FIFA. And surprisingly, having managed to declare them, the southerners managed only one victory in five meetings – 3:0 with Rubin. The team is in 8th place in the championship – apparently, fatigue has accumulated after the previous triumphant season, and objectively, Rostov does not have enough power reserve to fight for prizes.

In theory, Daniil Utkin, Alexei Ionov, Roman Akbashev could claim a place in the extended squad – but the former was not so noticeable in the first rounds, and the latter only played fully in the new team between the end of July and It’s the beginning of August – and we haven’t quite reached the gaming standard yet.

Rostov will be represented by others: captain Danil Glebov and striker Nikolai Komlichenko. Both have been a part of the club for a long time and remain extremely stable. Danil spends all matches of the current championship from bell to bell, in the absence of effective actions, he is extremely involved in moving the ball, moreover, he is one of the best in terms of the percentage of successful passes.

Komlichenko benefits Rostov in all three seasons and is not prone to recession. After the southerners bought him from Dynamo, the striker scored 10 goals and gave 6 assists in the 22/23 season, and in the current Premier League draw he has already scored three goals and one assist.

Competition at the forefront

This time the national team has many really strong and avant-garde players. Nikolay Komlichenko is just one of them. But candidates Alexander Sobolev and Konstantin Tyukavin look much more preferable. The Dynamo striker generally made a breakthrough in his career: previously he was a hostage to the status of Fedor Smolov, with whom he played in the same position, but remained in reserve due to the experience of his teammate. Lichka decided to move Fedor to the “ten” position in order to clear the way at the start for a hardworking and talented pupil of the “blue-white”. Konstantin’s reaction is excellent: 3 goals and 2 assists in 5 games RPL.

The first opponent is Qatar, the second has not yet been decided

The selection of opponents continues – so far it has only been possible to reach an agreement with the Qatari team – the teams will meet on September 12. The fight is expected to take place at the Al-Janoub Stadium, which hosted 7 matches of the 2022 World Cup.

With the choice of the second opponent, according to the general secretary of the Russian national team Maxim Mitrofanov, there are difficulties: the national team wants to arrange a meeting at home. These are mainly African teams: during the Russia-Africa summit it was reported that negotiations were underway with representatives of Egypt, Congo, Nigeria, Senegal and Mali, a request was made for a follow-up meeting with Burkina Faso.

Earlier, in mid-April, there were insiders on contacts with the Cameroon Football Federation, but in August, the federation’s secretary general, Blaise Joonan, said:

In the future, it is possible to organize a match between the national teams of Cameroon and Russia. We are ready to play if RFS extension they will receive an offer and will be willing to pay a certain amount for organizing this meeting. Then our federation will certainly agree.
