From the former Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare diagnosed with cancer. The club’s official website reports this, referring to a statement from the England Coaches Association on behalf of the coach.
Leicester have expressed support for their former manager, as well as his family. The specialist thanked him for the good wishes received and for the privacy reserved for him and his family in this difficult moment.
Shakespeare took temporary charge of the Foxes in February 2017 after being sacked Claudio Ranieri. Under Craig, the team reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in history and in March he was appointed permanent manager. However, already in October, Shakespeare was fired due to unsatisfactory results.
In April 2023, the Englishman returned to Leicester, becoming assistant manager.
