Another failure for Kokorin, Kuzyaev and Golovin are the leaders of the clubs. Let’s look at Russians abroad

Many have started the season well.

In the new season there are even more Russians at the European championships. We look at the updated geography and tell you how things are going for the most illustrious legionnaires.

Daler Kuzyaev

At the second attempt, the midfielder still managed to realize his dream: the last time his contract with Zenit expired, he had to return. This time, as a free agent, Daler went looking for a team in France. As a result, he agreed a contract with Le Havre and adapted very quickly to the Ligue 1 newcomer.

Now Kuzyaev is one of the leaders of the team, and the coach (and not only) openly admires the abilities of his ward. From statistics – Le Havre, according to the results of 8 rounds, is in 13th place with 9 points in its asset, and Daler himself managed to score 2 goals and ranks 4th in the team by the number of key passes per game (1 ), 3rd – for the number of shots on target per game (1.1).

Alexander Golovin

5 years flew by in a flash: Golovin can no longer be called a newcomer, he is an experienced player from Monaco’s starting team, who managed to play with different coaches and tried on different roles. At first he played in the profile role, then was moved to the wing, where the midfielder gave his two best seasons.

Under the guidance of Adolf Hütter, Alexander plays in the inside position and regularly appears in the starting lineup. In 7 games – 2 goals and 1 assist. The Monegasques themselves have entered the new season with confidence and are at the top of the table with 17 points, 1 point behind Nice, who are in 2nd place.

There are only concerns about the Russian’s injury rate: in the last championship, for the second time in his career in France, he played more than 30 Ligue 1 matches. And now, during the break, it became known that the midfielder he had an injury.

Alexey Miranchuk

Golovin went to Munich at the age of 22: he adapted to new demands and is now considered one of the leaders. And Alexey is not doing well with Atalanta. He already started as an established player: when you are 25 it is much more difficult to progress. Plus I was unlucky with the coach.

For Gian Piero Gasperini, the Russian midfielder remained a deep reserve player – and the loan to Turin changed nothing. It was worth hoping that the Turin team wanted to redeem Alexey, mentor Ivan Yurich also asked for this.

After returning, Miranchuk again missed a few games while recovering from an injury. He only managed to take the field in two championship matches. He didn’t even play 20 minutes against Fiorentina or Verona.

Arsen Zakharyan

It’s too early to say anything about Arsene: after signing, Imanol Alguacil will gradually allow the midfielder to play for Sociedad. The midfielder eventually appeared against Las Palmas, Granada and Real Madrid, but remained in reserve for the Champions League matches. Then the coronavirus intervened: Arsen had to miss other matches. But in the recent match against Atlético Madrid, the midfielder remained on the pitch for 25 minutes.

Now the biggest concern is Zakharyan’s readiness to withstand the team’s higher speeds. The Basques play extremely intense football, so much so that even Inter is drowning under their pressure. And the team is committed to maintaining this pace throughout the match.

Denis Cheryshev

The aging midfielder delayed the inevitable until the last minute, but finally left Spain last summer. Despite Russia’s interest, I decided to postpone returning to my homeland and chose the option with a Serie B club.

By the way, it’s not bad: “Venezia” recently rose to the elite division of the Italian championship and last year began a new ascent. The previous season ended in 8th place, in the new season the team is in 4th place after 9 rounds. The Russian himself, under Paolo Vanoli, is content with the reserve role. And in 4 games played he did not show effective actions.

Magomed Ozdoev

After the departure of Andrea Pirlo, Fatih Karagumryuk’s club decided to part with Magomed Ozdoev, although the thirty-year-old midfielder spent the last season confidently. Even more surprising is that Greek PAOK bought the player for just 450 thousand euros.

In the new team, Magomed’s functionality has changed slightly: he is now placed more often in the support zone. Over the course of 7 matches, the older footballer did not show any effective action – and in the last matches he began to appear on the field as a substitute. This may be a prerequisite for decline, but Ozdoev has time to change the situation.

Alexander Kokorin

At one point there were even rumors that Vincenzo Italiano might leave the Russian striker to Fiorentina. His purchase has long been recognized as a failure; last season’s results for Aris were not taken seriously. And in the summer they began to say that Alexander impressed the Violets coach during training.

And for a second I managed to believe it: the scandalous footballer returned to the national team squad, was in the reserves, and in the Conference League match against Rapid he even entered the field (in the 87th minute – instead of Bonaventura).

True, after that he returned to Cyprus, one might say, for a promotion (plays “Aris”. THE). True, the new campaign is faring much worse. In 6 games, only 1 goal – this is not what is expected from a striker of the team. The Russian then begins the final matches in reserve. On the other hand, what else was worth waiting for? Has Kokorin ever maintained a consistently high level and not just played in bursts until he got tired? Now something is happening that we should have gotten used to a long time ago.

The former president of the Ukrainian Football Federation is wanted in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has placed the former president of the Ukrainian Football Federation (UAF) on the wanted list. Andrei Pavelko. This comes from Ukrainian data Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the database, Pavelko is accused of two criminal articles: embezzlement, misappropriation of property or misappropriation of property through abuse of office, committed on a large scale or by an organized group, as well as official forgery.

On October 9, it became known that the former UAF president had been indicted on new charges. As clarified by the Strana publication, the investigation believes that Pavelko and a group of other Ukrainian football officials took possession of 9.32 million euros, which UAF received from the Union of European Football Associations (of UEFA) in 2015-2016.

Pavelko had previously been accused of carrying out bribery schemes during the construction of a plant to produce artificial turf for football pitches. In this case, the president of the association was arrested in November 2022, but managed to get bail. In June 2023 he was arrested again; only in February 2024 did he win the appeal and was released. In the same year, according to Ukrainian AveragePavelko traveled abroad, submitting a certificate of disability. Then “Strana” associated the persecution of Pavelko with the fact that Vladimir Zelensky was pressuring him to force him to hand over the position of president of the association to Ukrainian footballer Andrei Shevchenko, who eventually led the UAF in January 2024.

The RFU does not rule out Karpin merging the posts again

Russian Football Federation (RFU) does not rule out an agreement with the coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin reconciling work in the national team and the club. The Secretary General spoke about it in an interview RFU Maxim Mitrofanov.

In November Karpin announced his departure from Dinamo Moscow; he had been working at the club since June. Later, in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel, he ruled out a future combination.

“Never say ‘never’, everything happens in life,” Mitrofanov said in response to the question of whether he agreed RFU once again combining Karpin. — Basic RFU against the combination of the work of the national team and club coaches. But during the period of exclusion from official competitions this combination is in some cases possible; several coaches, even at the helm of the national teams, combine their work with that of the club”.

“If we talk about the normal competitive period in which the federation and its team should exist, the combination is impossible, the coach and his staff must be completely focused on the team and solving the assigned tasks. We do not know whether Valery Georgievich will ever contact us again with the question of the combination. I don’t think he knows it either. But it seems to me that he himself has drawn important conclusions and expressed them. The combination places a greater burden on the football team. There, too, they must correctly evaluate their capabilities. When a coach is in the national team, objectively he cannot deal with club matters,” Mitrofanov added.

Previously, Karpin also combined work in the national team and Rostov, but left the club in February this year.
