Former coach of Moscow Torpedo Alexander Borodyuk called the Serbian national team a good opponent for the Russian national team in a friendly match.
On Wednesday, the President of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Dyukov, announced that an agreement had been signed to hold a friendly match with the Serbian national team in March 2024 on Russian territory. The city and stadium where the game is planned to be held were not named.

The match against the Serbs could be the first for the Russian national team against a national team from Europe since the ban from participation in international competitions in February 2022. Previously, the Serbian national team reached the final part of Euro 2024.
