Alaev believes that beer should be sold in football stadiums

Beer should be sold in stadiums during football matches. This opinion was expressed to journalists at the forum “Russia is a sports power” by the president of the Russian Premier League Alexander Alaev.

“There was a purely positive attitude towards beer in the stadiums, the clubs performed. For me it is obvious that beer should be in the stadiums. But this is a matter of higher authorities, work is underway, there is a dialogue,” Alaev said.

The ban on the sale of beer in sports venues has been in force since 1 January 2005. The law did not apply to the period of the World Cup in Russia, which took place from 14 June to 15 July 2018. The Russian Football Federation, the Russian Premier League and the Ministry of Sports spoke in favor of lifting the ban. This initiative is traditionally opposed by the Ministry of Health, as well as by the federal “Sober Russia” project.
