Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-2 in the Spanish Super Cup final. The tournament took place in Saudi Arabia.
Among the winners scored goals: Rafinha (36th and 72nd minutes) e Roberto Lewandowski (45+4). The losers excelled Vinicius (45+2) e Gonzalo Garcia (45+6). Barcelona was sent off Frankie de Jong (90+1). For Vinicius it is the first goal in 19 matches, including the national team. The striker last scored on October 10 for the Brazilian national team in a friendly match against South Korea (5:0).
Barcelona coach Hans-Dieter Flick he won his eighth final as head coach. The German specialist has never lost a title match. In five of them he led the German Bayern, in three – Barcelona. Flick has coached the Catalan club since May 2024.
The Spanish Super Cup has been held as a mini-tournament since the 2019/20 season. Usually the champion and vice-champion of the country, as well as the winner and finalist of the national cup, take part in it. However, last season Barcelona won both tournaments and Real Madrid became the silver medalists in both competitions, so the teams that took third and fourth place in the last national championship participate in the current Spanish Super Cup.
In the semi-final, Barcelona beat Athletic (5:0), Real Madrid beat Atlético (2:1). The Catalan and Madrid clubs played in the final of the tournament for the fourth time in a row. In 2023 and 2025 Barcelona was stronger (3:1, 5:2). in 2024 – Real Madrid (4:1).
The Spanish Super Cup has been held since 1982. The tournament record holder for number of victories is Barcelona (16). Real Madrid is in second place in this indicator with 13 titles.
