“For me, Romanov’s help will be very important” – Spartak head coach Carcedo

Spartak head coach Juan Carcedo told how he formed the coaching staff in the Moscow team.

In January, the Red and Whites announced the signing of a contract with Carcedo until the summer of 2028. Sebastian Corona became his assistant. Sergio Cobo will be Spartak’s physical training coach, Ignacio Garcia will be the goalkeeper coach. Vadim Romanov, Alexander Zaichenko and Amador Sanchez will also continue to work in the Moscow team.

— Tell us about the assistants who came with you.

“I’ve known each of them for many years.” We achieved success together in Seville, winning the Europa League three years in a row. I know their abilities. Each of us will try to convey all our knowledge and motivation to the players. We will work hard to please the fans, for whom the team plays.

— Vadim Romanov remains at the headquarters.

“In my opinion, he did a great job at the end of the first part of the season. We talked. I said that his help would be very important to me. We need to understand the league, our opponents, our players as much as possible. Vadim will be a very important member of our staff.

— Artem Rebrov, whom you trained in 2012, works at Spartak. How do you remember him?

— A great professional and a strong personality. A few days ago I called Artem. He assured us that he would also be very useful to us, including in the training process. It is very important for me to have Russian specialists next to me. I’m used to having a lot of people at headquarters. And Artem will be with us from the first day,” the Spartak press service quotes Carcedo as saying.

Based on the results of 18 rounds of the WORLD RPL, Spartak is in sixth place, 11 points behind the leading Krasnodar.
