Spartak definitely does not need a new goalkeeper, Nigmatullin believes

Spartak does not need new goalkeepers, the former goalkeeper of the Russian national team Ruslan Nigmatullin told Sport Day by Day.

– What positions do Spartak still need players for?

– They are definitely not needed for the position of the goalkeeper, but otherwise it’s hard to say. The situation with one of my favorite clubs is that the selection work is ongoing, but the players of the Koffrie class still come from time to time. This transfer policy is very dubious, as players are not taken for reinforcements, but for unknown reasons. How are they objectively stronger than the same Russian players from Spartak-2? It’s hard for me to say who is needed now. Zinkovsky was taken, looks like a good option. He is both Russian and a fairly qualified player. Let’s see how Zinkovsky can prove himself in Moscow. As for other positions, I have no answer to this question.

Naturally, you need a qualified player in any line. But you need to look in the domestic market to avoid such unpleasant stories as with Larsson. It seemed that they took a good football player and hoped that he was proud of playing for Spartak. Now he is glad that he will not come to Moscow. The fewer such players there are, the better for Spartak. With this act, the player indicated his attitude towards the club. It means that he did not put his soul into entering the field. And this is very important.

– You said that the position of the goalkeeper does not need to be strengthened. Is it worth hoping for Maksimenko’s progress, because Selikhov, it seems, has been the main one in the championship in recent months? Or do you need to find a third goalkeeper who will compete?

Who was third last season?

— Pigs.

– Yes, a guy with a Spartak surname came to sit in reserve for a whole season. He must have thrown away a year of his career. Now he will fight for a place in the main team of Fakel.

As for the goalkeeper, the question arises: “Why?”. The third has almost no chance to play. I think that this position should be closed by a Spartak graduate. There is a good school, there are many strong goalkeepers. No need to take someone else. I am not familiar with the work of Svinov. It is possible that he is a talented and capable goalkeeper. But I have a doubt that he is completely stronger than his peers, who are in Spartak. The same Poplevchenkov, who went to the Kuban. Every year, Spartak has goalkeepers at the level of youth teams. If you take some others, then they should be head and shoulders stronger. There is no such.

Maksimenko won the Cup this year, entering the first team. I believe that it creates a full-fledged competition. I don’t see a gap in the level of the club’s current goalkeepers. Therefore, the competition between Selikhov and Maksimenko is still ahead.

Goalkeeper Alexander Maksimenko played all four matches in the Russian Cup, conceding two goals. Spartak won the National Cup for the first time since 2003.

The former president of the Ukrainian Football Federation is wanted in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has placed the former president of the Ukrainian Football Federation (UAF) on the wanted list. Andrei Pavelko. This comes from Ukrainian data Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the database, Pavelko is accused of two criminal articles: embezzlement, misappropriation of property or misappropriation of property through abuse of office, committed on a large scale or by an organized group, as well as official forgery.

On October 9, it became known that the former UAF president had been indicted on new charges. As clarified by the Strana publication, the investigation believes that Pavelko and a group of other Ukrainian football officials took possession of 9.32 million euros, which UAF received from the Union of European Football Associations (of UEFA) in 2015-2016.

Pavelko had previously been accused of carrying out bribery schemes during the construction of a plant to produce artificial turf for football pitches. In this case, the president of the association was arrested in November 2022, but managed to get bail. In June 2023 he was arrested again; only in February 2024 did he win the appeal and was released. In the same year, according to Ukrainian AveragePavelko traveled abroad, submitting a certificate of disability. Then “Strana” associated the persecution of Pavelko with the fact that Vladimir Zelensky was pressuring him to force him to hand over the position of president of the association to Ukrainian footballer Andrei Shevchenko, who eventually led the UAF in January 2024.

The RFU does not rule out Karpin merging the posts again

Russian Football Federation (RFU) does not rule out an agreement with the coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin reconciling work in the national team and the club. The Secretary General spoke about it in an interview RFU Maxim Mitrofanov.

In November Karpin announced his departure from Dinamo Moscow; he had been working at the club since June. Later, in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel, he ruled out a future combination.

“Never say ‘never’, everything happens in life,” Mitrofanov said in response to the question of whether he agreed RFU once again combining Karpin. — Basic RFU against the combination of the work of the national team and club coaches. But during the period of exclusion from official competitions this combination is in some cases possible; several coaches, even at the helm of the national teams, combine their work with that of the club”.

“If we talk about the normal competitive period in which the federation and its team should exist, the combination is impossible, the coach and his staff must be completely focused on the team and solving the assigned tasks. We do not know whether Valery Georgievich will ever contact us again with the question of the combination. I don’t think he knows it either. But it seems to me that he himself has drawn important conclusions and expressed them. The combination places a greater burden on the football team. There, too, they must correctly evaluate their capabilities. When a coach is in the national team, objectively he cannot deal with club matters,” Mitrofanov added.

Previously, Karpin also combined work in the national team and Rostov, but left the club in February this year.
