Lazio have lost ground in Serie A in the battle for a place in the top four that sends them to the new Champions League, but they are hotly contested in this season’s top European club competition and as the games go on it shows that it’s getting more and more.

That’s exactly what he did on Tuesday evening (28/11) on the 5th matchday of the 5th group, when Maurizio Sarri’s team encountered strong resistance from Celtic at the “Olympic” but found a way to win the Golden Triple, which increased to 10 points and sent their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages soaring.

The big star of the game was Ciro Immobile. The team captain came on as a substitute in the 61st minute and decided the game in the final by scoring two goals in three minutes (82nd 85th) and the adoration of the Eagles fans knew.

Just before the final Celtic won a penalty but the referee took it back after seeing the situation on the monitor (VAR called him). After the final whistle, the Scots said goodbye to Europe and Lazio took an important step towards qualification and hoped for Atlético to win in the Netherlands against Feyenoord and thus move into the “16” from matchday 5.
