FIFA unveiled its logo on its official website World Cup 2026It will be held in three countries, the USA, Canada and Mexico.
The logo shows the World Cup trophy against the background of a pattern consisting of multiple repetitions of the number 26 in different colors. It was presented at an official event in Los Angeles.
The 2026 World Cup will be a historic event. For the first time in history, 48 teams will participate in the World Cup (32 teams played previously). The reigning world champion is Argentina, which won the title in Qatar in 2022.
In addition, FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented the official slogan of the 2026 World Cup “WE ARE 26” (“We are 26”):
“WE ARE 26 is a battle cry. This is the moment when the three countries and the entire continent declared “Together we invite the whole world and we are ready to host the biggest, best and most comprehensive World Cup in history”. The 2026 World Cup will allow each host country and each participating country to write its own page in the history of world championships and a unique brand is a big step towards 2026.
In just a few hours, 16 beautiful cities that will host the 2026 World Cup will launch individual brands designed by FIFA, making the tournament even more colorful and exciting. These unique cities embody fun places and wonderful people that will give fans an unforgettable experience in 2026. As we celebrate today in Los Angeles, the entire continent celebrates that three years from now, the entire world will unite to watch the world’s greatest show in North America.”
