Infantino: “There will be travel at the 2026 World Cup, but the conditions will be as best as possible for the teams”

The President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, argued in his statements on the 2026 World Cup that due to the long distances it can be assumed that the teams will be at their base according to the draw.
A completely different organizational framework to limit the long and long trips of the teams that will take part in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico will be prepared by FIFA, as announced on Thursday (18.5.). President Gianni Infantino.
The head of world football’s governing body presented his βgiftβ to the official presence of the event’s logo in Los Angeles, stressing that FIFA’s main concern is not to cause any inconvenience to the teams, since this World Cup will be the first in three different ones countries with 48 instead of 32 teams.
βThe challenge for us will be support under new conditions. Distances, time zones, climate differences, altitude in Mexico, sea levels in other areas are important factors.β Infantino emphasized and added:
“That’s why it’s important for us to create the right environment so that the teams and the fans have the best possible conditions. This means that we don’t have to travel much, especially in the beginning. We will form groups where the teams come together.β will be determined according to the lottery.
That was one of the advantages of the World Cup in Qatar, where a player was in bed an hour after the game. There will be travel in 2026 but we will coordinate this and ensure the best possible conditions for the teams.β
Speaking on the part of the former USA and Los Angeles Galaxy grand ace, Alexis Lalas was 100% for Infantino’s suggestion:
βWe’re talking about six-hour flights and time zone changes. For a lot of players from elsewhere it will fundamentally change the competition, so this regional idea makes sense.β He reported this shortly after the ceremony to the French news agency (AFP).
