VASCHUK about the Ukrainian national team: “The problem is that they cannot be united”

Former Ukraine national team defender Vladislav Vashchuk evaluated the modern national team’s chances of participating in the 2026 World Cup:

“I think all the players in the Ukrainian national team are very strong individually. The problem is that they cannot be united. They won the last match and showed how they can play. So if they don’t play like that against the Swedes, everyone will see: ‘Can you play? Why didn’t you play?’

It can also be said that this is a limit that they have crossed. They pushed themselves and showed everyone, and above all themselves, what they could do. “First of all, if they play together like they did in the last game, they will be a good and classy Ukrainian team when they reach the World Cup.”

According to the draw results, the Ukrainian national team will face Sweden in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March, and if it reaches the final, it will face the winner of the Poland-Albania duo.

The US will play four top-flight matches before the 2026 emergency

The U.S. Soccer Federation has officially announced that four friendlies will be held as part of the national team’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

Mauricio Pochetti’s team starts the series of control matches with a match against Belgium, which will take place on February 28 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Atlanta. In just three days and 31 weeks, the Americans will meet Portugal in which stadium.

Next up for the team is the May 31 game in Charlotte against a rival that can be voted on later. The final phase is the match against Nimechchini, which will take place on June 6 in Chicago.

The federation emphasized that the United States will not lose to any team, but to its group at the world championships.

“For us it is a great opportunity to cheer on the best teams in the world. These are incredible matches for fans and supporters,” said Mauricio Pochettino.

World Championship 2026 will be held in Canada, Mexico and the USA from 11 rubles to 19 rubles. 48 teams will participate in the final tournament. Guess what, the Ukrainian national team has made it to the European Qualifier play-offs.

FIFA awarded the World Prize

The International Football Federation has announced the launch of a new sign: the FIFA Peace Prize.

The city is called upon to work in a way that, through its activities, brings unity to people and the world through football. According to the words of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the prize is awarded to those who have done something wrong for the sake of peace.

“In an increasingly troubled and divided world, it is important to recognize the prominent contributions of those who work diligently on the underlying conflicts and relationships of people in the world,” Infantino said.

Although FIFA has not officially announced the name of the first winner, football clubs are actively discussing that the debut winner could be US President Donald Trump. There are a number of factors that support this theory:

There is a lot of competition between Trump and Infantino. The location of the ceremony is the capital of the United States. FIFA will seek political support for the World Cup, which will take place in the US, Canada and Mexico.

The first naming ceremony will take place on April 5, 2025 near Washington, during the official draw for the final part of the 2026 World Championship.
