“To shiver.” Biathlete Gerbulova – about the Russian anthem during the awards

Biathlete of the Russian national team Natalya Gerbulova told the “Championship” about the feelings that the athlete experiences when finishing with the flag of his country and listening to the national anthem on the podium.

In the mass start at the second stage of the Commonwealth Cup in Raubichi, Gerbulova became the second, losing to Dinara Alimbekova from Belarus.

– I am very glad that Dinara became the winner on her Belarusian soil, that she finished with the flag. It’s very touching. When the Belarusian anthem was played after the mass start and all the fans sang it, even I shed a tear. And I expect that the anthem will also be played at the Russian Championships in Tchaikovsky and our fans will also sing it, because, given the current situation in the country, it’s right to the point of shivering, ”said Gerbulova.

On Saturday, at the Russian Championships in Tchaikovsky, Gerbulova took second place in the sprint.
