Russian Olympic Committee player Polina Bolgareva tested positive for COVID-19 after the game against Canada.

Russian team head coach Evgeny Bobariko told the agency Novosti that his attacker had heard the news on his return to the Olympic Village. She took part in the game which ended in a 6-1 win for Canada.

The start of the meeting was delayed due to some concerns surrounding the results of some drug tests. Eventually, it was agreed that the players would start the game wearing the mask.

The Canadian players kept the mask on throughout the game, but the athletes from the Russian Olympic Committee took it off at the start of the third period.

The Russian team has been deprived of eight players for these Games due to the virus.
