Slopestyle gold medalist Max Parrot told theAssociated Press Saturday that his compatriot Mark McMorris had apologized for suggesting that Parrot had won due to a questionable score from the judges.

The Quebecer recognized at theAssociated Press that he had missed when grabbing his board during his first jump of his second run in the final which allowed him to record the best score of the day all the same with 90.96 points. He beat the Chinese Su Yiming (88.70 pts) and McMorris (88.53 pts) who completed the podium.

The bronze medalist had mentioned to CBC Friday that he deserved to beat Parrot and Yiming.

“Obviously, it would have been better to have another color of medal. But to know that I had the downhill of the day and one of my best runs ever and everyone in the business knows what happened is pretty crazy,” McMorris said.

Parrot reported that there was no issue with his compatriot who had come to him to apologize for his words.

The snowboarders will meet on the track on Monday with the qualifications for the Grand Saut event.
