The champion of the Olympic Games in Beijing in cross-country skiing, Yulia Stupak, thanked the fans for their support amid the situation with the removal of Russia from international competitions, while she noted that there are only a few ill-wishers now.
On October 22, at a meeting of the Council of the International Ski Federation (FIS), they decided to extend the suspension of Russians and Belarusians from competitions under the auspices of the organization for an indefinite period.
“So many people have written to me in the past few days. Some wish health, for which many thanks. Others write words of support because of our exclusion from the international arena. Friends, you are amazing. They even write from other countries. People who simply love our sport say very kind words. Of course, there are those who write and gloat, but they are few. Therefore, know that I am not going to hold a grudge against someone personally. Everyone who sent rays of love, may it come back to you a hundredfold. Hugs,” Stupak wrote on the social network.
At the Beijing Games, 27-year-old Stupak became the relay champion. Together with Natalia Nepryaeva, the skier won bronze in the team sprint.
