BEIJING, China — Veteran Charles Hamelin will be racing his last Olympic race at the Beijing Games on Wednesday. Teammate and four-time Olympic medalist Kim Boutin will be looking to add another to her collection as the quarter-finals of the men’s hockey tournament are featured.

Here are five events to watch at the Beijing Olympics on Day 12.

Hamelin’s Last Lap (Wednesday, 7:30 a.m.)

Five-time medalist Charles Hamelin, in his fifth Games, will compete in his last Olympic race. He will be part of the 5000 meter short track speed skating relay, which will compete in the A final of the event.

Regardless of the outcome, Hamelin will leave behind a legacy as one of Canada’s greatest short track athletes of all time. However, he will want to finish his illustrious career with another podium.

Meanwhile, Steven Dubois, Hamelin’s teammate, can win his third medal at these Games in this event.

Boutin can add to his record (Wednesday, 6:30 a.m.)

Kim Boutin, who has already won a bronze medal in the 500 meters in the short track, should be looking for another medal in the 1500 m.

The Sherbrooke resident won a bronze medal in the 1500m four years ago in PyeongChang and was a silver medalist in this event at the 2019 world championships.

Men’s hockey quarterfinals start (Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.)

The quarter-finals of the men’s hockey tournament will be played on Wednesday with four games.

Canada qualified for the semi-finals by defeating China. This time they will face Sweden, a team that finished second in Group C.

The bronze medal at stake in women’s hockey (Wednesday, 6:30 a.m.)

While the gold medal game between Canada and the United States will take place on Thursday, the bronze medal game of the women’s hockey tournament will take place on Wednesday between Switzerland and Finland.

This is the sixth time Finland has reached the bronze medal game at the Olympics. The country will be aiming for a fourth bronze medal in the history of the competition.

Moffatt solo (Tuesday, 8:30 p.m.)

In the final of the acrobatic descent on skis, Max Moffatt will be the only representative of the maple leaf.

Meanwhile, Canada will continue its men’s and women’s round robin contest beginning at 8 p.m.
