BRISBANE, Australia – The organizing committee for the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane held its first official meeting on Wednesday, more than 10 years before Australia’s coastal city welcomed the world.

The vice-president of the International Olympic Committee, John Coates, met the president of the organizing committee, Andrew Liveris, as well as the representatives of the Australian government and selected ex-athletes.

Liveris, the former president and chief operating officer of Dow Chemical, an Olympic sponsor, mentioned that the priorities of his committee are to appoint an executive director and to establish the national and international advertising strategy.
