Torpedo interrupted Avangard’s winning streak in the KHL regular season, Spartak beat Sochi

Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo” beat “Avangard” in the regular season of the Fonbet Championship of the KHL, interrupting the three-match winning streak of Omsk.

The meeting in Nizhny Novgorod ended with the score 4:2 (1:0, 0:0, 3:2). Igor Larionov’s team was scored by Mark Marin, Maxim Letunov, Denis Yan and Sergey Goncharuk. Alex Broadhurst and Christian Yarosh scored at Avangard.

Torpedo will now play SKA in St. Petersburg on September 26, Avangard will play Neftekhimik in Nizhnekamsk the day before.

In another match on Friday, Spartak Moscow beat Sochi. The game in Sochi ended with a minimal victory for the Red-Whites. Maxim Tsyplakov became the author of the only goal in the 27th minute.

In one more meeting Traktor Chelyabinsk beat Neftekhimik 5:3 on the road. The Nizhnekamsk team continues to be the last club that has not yet won a single victory this season.

The third day of competitions at the Junior World Hockey Championship held in the USA has ended.

After defeating Denmark with a score of 6:2, the Finnish team also defeated Latvia with a score of 8:0. The Latvian team, which was only defeated by Canada in extra time, did not have the strength to cope with another strong opponent.

The Finnish team outscored its opponent with 41:7 (an anti-record at the World Championships – six shots per game).

Finnish hockey players lead the group with 6 points, while Latvia is in second place with one point.

The third day of matches in the elite league of the U-20 World Youth Hockey Championship has started.

The Swedish team, which started the tournament with a difficult victory against Slovakia, defeated the Swiss team with a score of 3-2 today. And again there were difficulties for one of the favorites.
