Liga Stavok made a gift to the legendary hockey players of the USSR Super Series – Canada 1972

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Super Series USSR – Canada in 1972, Liga Stavov made a cash gift in the amount of 300 thousand rubles to each participant in the legendary matches, as well as to the families of those participants in the Super Series who had already passed away.

Fifty years ago, the history of the great Soviet, and now Russian hockey began. In 1972, an agreement was signed at the World Cup to host eight friendly matches between Canada and the Soviet Union. The matches were held from September 2 to 28, at the same time the whole world recognized Vladislav Tretyak, Valery Kharlamov, Alexander Yakushev, Boris Mikhailov and other members of the legendary USSR team. And until now, these names cause awe and sincere admiration, because what these brave people did is part of the glorious sports history and heritage of our country.

“The Super Series gave birth to the love for hockey that is now in Russia,” says Yuri Krasovsky, president of the Liga Stavok bookmaker. “Our childhood is hockey. The courage and courage with which in 1972 Soviet hockey players took to the ice against Canadian professionals were also passed on to us, millions of ordinary people in the country. The heroes of our generation were hockey players – great athletes; and this cash gift is a way to express your gratitude and appreciation. We do it from the heart and soul. We are proud of our athletes.”

In total, 14 legendary veterans and 17 families of those hockey players who are no longer with us received 9.3 million rubles.

It should be reminded that Liga Stavok and the Russian Ice Hockey Federation cooperate not only within the framework of sports projects, but also implement joint charitable programs. In 2020, during the pandemic, the FHR was one of the first to respond to the League of Stavok’s call to unite sports federations to help the state and sports. Since then and to the present moment, the all-Russian social program “League of Sports Veterans” has been operating, aimed at targeted support of sports veterans. Today, more than 700 veterans in 11 regions of Russia receive assistance, including honored hockey players.

This season, Liga Stavok continues to cooperate with the Russian Hockey Federation, which was announced on September 21 at an official press conference at the Hockey Museum. In particular, the partners announced the continuation of cooperation in the charitable direction with the Constellation of Good Foundation

Liga Stavok and the Constellation of Good Foundation, together with the FHR, will continue to support honored veterans of sports and build hockey rinks for children throughout Russia, including in remote parts of the country where there are objective problems with sports infrastructure, ”explains the first- vice-president of the Liga Stavok betting company, founder of the Constellation of Good Charity Fund Olga Zhuravskaya.

Vladislav Tretyak noted his personal interest in the development of charitable activities and cooperation with the Constellation of Good Foundation, as well as the importance of Liga Stavok’s charitable programs for preserving the hockey heritage and further developing youth sports.
