Plyushchev named the KHL club that will be the most interesting to follow next season

Former head coach of the Russian national hockey team Vladimir Plyushchev said that he would be interested in following Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the next season of the FONBET KHL Championship.

Last season, Metallurg won the final series with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl with a score of 4–0 and became a three-time winner of the Gagarin Cup. Previously, the Magnitogorsk club won in the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons. In terms of the number of trophies, Metallurg is equal to Ak Bars (2009, 2010, 2018) and CSKA (2019, 2022, 2023).

Storm hockey club announced its decision to suspend participation in the Ukrainian Championship. The Odessa team had not come to the Krizhinka match before.
At the same time, Storm denied that the issue was related to financial problems and expressed distrust of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation.

“Due to systematic violation of the principles of equality and justice in competitions, Shtor hockey club expressed its distrust in the leadership of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation and decided to suspend its participation in the Ukrainian Championship.”
There was already a situation this season when Krizhinka suspended its participation in the championship due to referee problems.

Junior World Hockey Championship. Great comeback from the USA, 9 goals and hat-trick from Canada
Another day of play in the elite league of the World Junior Hockey Championship has ended.
The USA team beat Slovakia with a score of 6:5, with big problems. The host team of the tournament lost 0:2 and 1:3 but managed to come back and win.
Forward Tomas Hrenko scored a double for the Slovaks, scoring three goals in the last match. And the Americans have a double thank you to James Hagens.
USA and Sweden are leaders in the group with 9 points.
In the other group, Canada beat Denmark 9-1, while forward Gavin McKenna is expected to score a hat-trick and become number 1 in the 2026 draft.
